That solo you’ve been chasing for years — Tab-Grabber hands you the map.
How it works
Tab-Grabber listens to any recording — a song, a video, your own recorded playing — finds the solo or melody line and writes the harmonica tabs for you, bends and overblows included. It plays the original back while each tab lights up, lets you correct any note by hand, and saves your work as a text file, a self-playing audio player you can share, or a file that drops straight into Fab Tabs.
About isolation credits — before you buy
Tabbing a full-band recording only works from a clean, isolated track. Bring your own, or let Tab-Grabber make one — usually one credit for a typical solo, from 55¢ USD each.
- One credit covers a minute of audio, rounded up — a short lick is one credit, a two-minute instrumental is two.
- Already isolated? No credit needed. A lesson clip, a separated solo, your own playing — load it and grab —no cost.
- Credits aren’t included in the licence price. They come in packs of 10, 20 or 40 — bought only if and when you need them.
- Everything else is unlimited. Tabbing, editing, playback, saving and sharing cost nothing, ever.
- The free trial includes 3 credits, so you can put a real song through it before spending anything.
Features
- Powerful AI note detection including advanced customizations
- Built-in studio-grade instrument isolation: one click separates the harmonica, sax or trumpet from the band (requires isolation credits).
- Bring your own isolated tracks – always free.
- Harp-aware: bends, overblows, positions, and pitch checking built on real harmonica physics.
- Fix any tab — change, delete, octave-shift, or type the tab.
- Four tab formats
- Save as a text file or a shareable player with the real audio inside — plays anywhere.
- FAB TABS OWNERS: export grabbed tabs straight into Fab Tabs for transposing, practice and Lick-Share.
There’s more possibilities…
Fab Tabs is where your tabs come alive.
Import them into Fab tabs with a click, transpose to any harp key or position, see scale degrees, slow the playback down and play along, record your own takes, and share licks online with Lick-Share.
Fab Tabs: CA$39.95 — or get both in the bundle and save.
Made for power users
For players who have been waiting for a way to write tabs by lifting harmonica — and other wind instrument — solos directly from a recording. A power tool for serious players: lift classic solos off old records, tab out horn solos, capture your own best takes. If you own Fab Tabs, Tab-Grabber is the front door: grab the part, export it, then practice, transpose and share it.
Technical
- For 10-hole diatonic harmonicas
- Runs in your browser — no install. Mac, Windows and Linux (Chrome or Firefox recommended).
- Best on a desktop or laptop. Phone and tablet work via the web version (beta).
No transcriber is perfect
No transcriber is “always 100% accurate”. Every recording is different — the audio quality, the volume of the lead instrument, the tone — sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Even with all those variables, Tab-Grabber still manages to get things surprisingly close to that high bar. And when a note is wrong, you can simply right-click it and fix it.
