This tune is a good example for choosing to play the Major 3rd, rather than the Flat 3 (hole 3, 1st bend). An upbeat song as this, likes the “happier” Major 3. I have a lot of fun playing with Ontario’s Soulstack. Lots of R&B and funk for my soul!

A few years ago I got a call for this session. I walked in & heard this track playing without the vocals – just a groovin’ blues track. The Producer then tells me it’s “Pop Goes the Weasel” for a kids album & I have the head/lead. I really thought he was joking. I had […]
Sadly, the Harp Wah doesn’t seem to help my fishing skills (but it doesn’t seem to hurt), and it is the only effect for acoustic harmonica playing.
Cool Effects for Acoustic Harmonica that go beyond what regular hand cupping can create.
An F harp is usually not great when using a traditional “Cup” but the Harp Wah does a great job at bringing out the right frequencies.

Here’s a nice Funk jam – where I start out through an amp, then switch over to acoustic playing using the Harp Wah. To me, the cupping effects I get with the Harp Wah work well in a tune like this. I would normally choose to go through an amp on this type of track, […]
